PSA the same

User

Well that’s a bit of a shock.

latest PSA result is exactly what it was 5 weeks ago.

I am on Zoladex every 12 weeks and daily Appalutamide ….

my PSA had been going down every month. I have it tested every month because I’m on Apalutamide.

2 months ago it was 0.2 and dropped last month to 0.12 which another month on it still is.

is this likely to be it bottoming out ready to start rising, ?

or just bottomed out and this is as low as it is likely to go ?

or could it just be a blip and carry on down next time…..

last time I was on Zoladex it hit 0.03.

should I be concerned?

Shaun

sorry had to edit the PSA numbers… 0.12 is where it’s at.

In your situation, the actual reading isn't as important as the trend so as long as the PSA is holding stable or dropping, all is well.

PSA now down to 0.07 from two months ago when it was 0.08 ( I forgot to post ).

I have a prostate infection at the minute so that’s possibly the reason for the slight drop.

That said the oncologist said they are very happy with that reading and hopefully the meds …. Zoladex and Appalutamide will keep working for a good while longer.

Really made up with that.

Happy days.

latest PSA down from 0.07 to 0.06.

Not a big drop but that’s in 6 weeks.

I will take that as it’s still falling and I am feeling fairly wellπŸ˜ƒ.

Great news Shaun, notice your coming upto the 8 year mark since diagnosis, keep going pal.

Good stuff, Shaun.  I'm being treated at the Christie in Manchester, and in their view if a PSA reading is below 0.5 it's non-existent, so keep on keeping on!

<0.05 is as low as your testing lab can go, doesn't get any better than that!

Will look at devil's claw....

Shaun,

Great news!

I’m also so pleased you’ve found something that helps your joint pains. I’m struggling with this on Prostap,  I wonder if this will help me? I will need to try and get a hold of this…anything’s worth trying.

Thanks Lyn.

It was just a bit of a shock when it was the same as last month, I’d built it up in my head that I’d see it get into the 0.0’s but like you say if it stays stable I’ll be happy.

That's good.

Also note that COVID or a COVID jab can temporarily push it up considerably for a month or so.

Good luck with your treatment. I had SABR done to the top of my spine at the Christie’s … great hospital .

The devils claw has really helped me… she recommended Tumeric, but I was already taking that. That why she said try devils claw.

I’m taking turmeric, Vitenam D, Viteman E, glocusamine, cod liver oil, magnesium…and none of them seem to help😟

Well that’s a pleasant surprise πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

After being stable at 0.05 for 6 months ( I get tested every 6weeks ), my PSA has had a drop to 0.04.

And that’s with one of my two know areas still showing as active on a CT scan.

I thought 0.05 was as low as it was going to get this time round.

Not posted in a while.

My PSA got down to 0.03πŸ˜ƒ and stayed at that for a while.

Despite the low PSA, I was getting quite a lot of lower back ache.

Oncologist had an MRI done and it showed that the area at the bottom of my spine was still active despite PSA of 0.03.

I have previously had 3 areas treated with SABR and asked about getting this new area treated with SABR privately.

My oncologist took my case to the MDT and the agreed to the Treatment.

My PSA had now risen to 0.04.

I had 3 sessions planned to this small tumour.

Had to stop after the second due to pain.

After a few days had the third treatment followed by a lot of pain for 2 weeks.

I get PSA tested every 6 weeks, it’s back down to 0.03 for last two test.

I had hoped it to disappear but I’ll take 0.03 and reduced back ache.
