We are recruiting five men to be part of an Advisory Group to help guide our Support and Influencing activity.
What is Support and Influencing?
Support and influencing describes our work to:
- provide men with the support they need to navigate prostate cancer, through our Specialist Nurse, health information, and 1:1 Peer Support services.
- improve the treatment that men receive and push for high-quality, equal care for all men wherever they are in the UK.
Who do we want to work with?
We’re inviting men with recent experience of diagnosis or treatment to shape our support and campaigning work. We particularly encourage the men in the two groups below to come forward –
1. We know there is a major North-South divide in prostate cancer diagnosis, with men in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the North and Midlands of England more likely to be diagnosed after their cancer has spread and become incurable.
2. We also know that, despite being at a higher risk of prostate cancer, and at an earlier age, Black men are not getting the care and support they need.
