Prostatitis specialist Urologists in SW England

Hi all

first time posting.

Nurse on PCUK recommended I ask here for recommendations on NHS urologist with specialisation in Prostatitis. I’m in Bristol so SW would be great, but would travel to London/Birmingham/M4

History-  Been diagnosed with Prostatitis around 6 weeks ago. Had antibiotics but still extremely fatigued and uncomfortable. Can’t really work, walk more than a few yards or do anything of light energy without tummy flaring up and fatigue setting in. Ciprofloxacin side effects (tendon/leg) after 2-3 weeks was severe so stopped them at 25 days.

Had bloods taken after blood in stool (unrelated investigation) and all clear except PSA of 29. Have colonoscopy tomorrow and CT ok Friday.
Back to GP on Thursday.
many thanks

I had asymptomatic prostatitis 2-months ago that caused by PSA level to double.

Do you know your PSA level before reaching 29 (before diagnosis)?

What's your age?

Thanks,

Omar

The FOPS support group has 4 regular consultant urologists, and one is a prostatitis specialist. He's retired from the NHS now, but would probably be able to point you to someone in the NHS.

We meet in the evening, first Wednesday of odd months on Zoom, and first Monday of even months at Chorleywood, although we've not confirmed any dates for next year yet.
