19 yrs on RT HT to give hope

Updated my profile, now in brief

The post is intended to give hope that the dark days can but sadly not always get much brighter.

RT was tolerated well, a non event really

HT, first 12 months was challenging,  then slowly improved.

ED, as my profile reads - possibly started too late

Treatment side effects  all I can say is for me it was worth riding the storm.

Good luck to you all

Ray

Thanks all.

Treatment advances have given rise to more positive outcome attitudes towards G8 than back in my time. Background, 1st biopsy clear but uro was adamant I had Pca, 2nd biopsy proved that to be correct. Also adamant, even though well respected, I would be incontinent. RT greatly reduced that risk.

Well done Ray, tremendous results, what was the reason for going down the HT/RT route rather than removal of the prostate?

All those who are "cured" know that things could change at the next PSA test. It is reassuring that for some HT will be effective longer than the five years or so that we would expect.

Thanks for replies. Nice to read you're still around Bri.

I'm aware of the concerns a PSA increase can cause so reinstated my moved around a bit PSA record to show what goes up can come down
