Intraductal cancer type treatment response

Hi all,

I’d be interested to know if anyone had histology/biopsy back showing rare cancer type cells and the treatment options/outcomes they’ve experienced.

Various charity prostate websites describe intraductal or ductal glandular cancer as being rare, aggressive and resistant to some treatments. The 5 part of my 4+5 Gleason was intraductal. The rest acinar.

I’m due to see the Oncologist for the first time and wondering what treatment options may be discussed. I suspect given I’m 44 and have locally spread pelvis mets it maybe chemo and radio. Would be interesting to know others treatments of rare cancer types and whether this Ben makes a difference to treatment options.

Thanks 😀

Thought I would update this thread based on some feedback from my Oncologist.

My oncologist was very unphased about the intraductal cancer and didn’t seem to think that it impacted on treatment options or prognosis. He said the overall gleason was the main thing and that yes there are other rarer cancers like small cell which can be more resistant but ultimately until response to treatment is seen the plan is the same.

Just an FYI in case anyone has a similar query.
