Hi Phil.

My missus loves decorating the tree and living room, whilst having a sherry. I get all the stuff down from the attic, leave her and a bottle of sherry, in the living room. Shut the door. Return four hours later and Hey presto! the job's sorted.

Thats the way to do it. And I must admit I don’t get a chance to put anything on . It would most definitely be in the wrong place. Before we moved a couple of years ago we had 2 trees every year. One in the lounge and one in the dining room and they both had to have exactly the same decs on …

This year we got a new tree (only one) with led lights already on and it’s so much easier than stringing loads of wire round the tree. It looks better too πŸ‘πŸŽ„

Hey Adrian,

Is your Mrs available next week to put up a couple of trees? We'll get the sherries in 😁

if a job's worth doing well.. get someone who knows what they're doing  πŸ˜…

P.S. I do like London Pride, Doom Bar & Adnams (etc..) πŸ‘πŸ»

P.P.S. Japan's on my list too, my sister's been 3 times and speaks a bit, not fluent though.

Cheers,

Kev.

Hi Guys. Hope you’re all readied for Christmas?

We’re having a quiet Christmas Eve and Day. Only the MiL here as youngest is at his wife’s family this year. No driving so a few glasses of wine and a Christmas movie is on the cards.

Oldest boy and family arrive Boxing Day from Jersey. We will pick them up at Gatwick - hope the traffic’s ok getting back through the Dartford tunnel.

Family get together on 28th with wife’s brother and partner joining us from oop North.

Have my hospital consultation F2F tomorrow so a little bit nervous. Hopefully they’ll have a plan for the new year and the Radium 223. Have some awkward questions to ask like what’s next after the Radium…? And will I be able to fly during the course of treatment.

Noticing my head hair growing again now albeit very white and also my beard growing quicker. Presume it is a slight testosterone increase as the Degarelix isn’t doing much now. I won’t know as PSA and testosterone not listed on my latest blood test form. I do wonder why they want me to carry on with Hormone treatment when it’s obviously doing bugger all… Oh well they are experts.

So still faffing around doing a bit of DiY. Boxed in small bit of soil pipe yesterday in downstairs cloakroom. Measured tiles for it this morning after my latest Degarelix injection. I’ll get me boy over to cut them with his fancy cutter tool..

So, hope you guys are all keeping well? Apparently lots of bugs around at the moment so keep safe. Had my Covid booster week before last and having the Flu one this week.

Take care buddies,

Phil

I shall be thinking of you, Phil. 🀞

Enjoy your Xmas tipple mate. πŸ‘

And don't forget to tell your guests from up North that you've got an inside loo.πŸ˜‚

I've got a couple of my lads staying with us over Xmas. The other, the most sensible, has gone abroad for a month. 😁

My daughter, who only lives a couple of miles away, has invited us all to hers for Xmas dinner. She's catering for 16! It'll be case of taking our own chairs. 😁

Good luck with your consultation Phil, I'll be thinking of you πŸ‘

Adrian, that sounds like our plans for Christmas. Got my youngest son staying at ours with my grandson, and my old mum if she makes it. My eldest son is doing lunch at his place, about 4 miles away, for the whole family, 13 of us in total. We'll be turning up with the cheeseboard, cake, and a carload of dining chairs!

Going down with man flu the last couple of days, which is bloody typical πŸ˜†, but on the plus side, I got my latest PSA result yesterday, and 5 months on from surgery it is <0.02, so undetectable!

The Hart family cancer tally continues to rise unfortunately. To add to me, my mum and my younger brother, my wife's mum has just been diagnosed with breast cancer, which has spread to her lymph nodes, liver, and possibly spine. Incurable, but full prognosis not known until meeting on Friday. I'm not remotely religious, but someone up there is taking the piss!

Despite the early hour, I feel the need for a virtual pint. Anybody up for one?

Take care lads.

Good luck Phil, we've got our fingers crossed for you 🀞🏻

We're having a quiet Christmas, just us and the youngest so no real cooking headaches on the day, we had our get together last week.

We flew back last night and Luton Airport has its decorations up with a tree outside the entrance, very festive! We enjoyed a long weekend of 23° weather listening to Christmas songs on the radio, a bit surreal. I've added Christmas day on a sunny beach to my list now! Maybe next year.

I'm up for a virtual pint, I'll have a Doom Bar, great news on your PSA result Ian, but sorry to hear about your mother in law, awful news especially at this time of year.

Cheers all.

Kev.

What a fantastic early Xmas present, Ian. I'm really pleased for you mate!πŸ‘

But I'm sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. πŸ˜•

If we're all having an early drink. I'll have a  Guinness on me cornflakes.

It reminds of when breakfast outings used to be all the rage. A full English and a few pints, all before 10am. The daft things we did when we were young. πŸ™‚

We had an outside loo when I was 5 or 6 . Absolutely freezing cold and dark. It wasn’t even directly out the back door. They were old farm cottage’s.

I’ll add to the congrats for your PSA Ian but so sorry to hear about your MiL. That is tough…

Looking forward to Christmas and I’m just gonna try and relax and not think about things too deeply…

Hoping matter todays F2F I can possibly have a chat with some travel insurance companies as I’m getting withdrawal symptoms 🀣.

Cheers

Ey up lads!

I've just realised that "Crap! Not as erect!" Is an anagram of prostate cancer.

Little things please little minds.😁

You should get that printed on a T-shirt πŸ˜…

Anyway, I just popped in for a virtual breakfast pint and reported a couple of spammers on our chat 🀷🏻‍♂️

Cheers.

Hi Kev.

Yeah, those spammers really jar me off!

One tried to infiltrate Phil's thread yesterday. 😑

To mess about on a site dedicated to cancer suffers is despicable. They should be caught and made to have a DRE from a doctor with hands like shovels. That'd teach 'em. 😁

I was thinking of beating the gaming spammers at their own game, and starting a thread on apt anagrams of prostate terminology. It might be a bit of a giggle for those who enjoy word games.

Other apt anagrams of 'prostate cancer' include 'Procreates not' and sadly 'Reaper contacts'

I had a real life breakfast outing yesterday morning. A full English and a pint of Batemans XXX in a Spoons in Grimsby. You can't get much rougher than that, but it was surprisingly good. 😁

Morning all,

Just popping in for a pre Christmas virtual pint and mince pie.

Five years ago today was my post op appointment with urology, it wasn't with my surgeon but one of his underlings as he was probably on a plane heading for the sunshine. I remember getting the appointment letter and thinking Christmas eve.! are you kidding me?

Made a pact with the Mrs this year, we're only buying each other small inexpensive gifts while we treat ourselves to holidays instead. This time last week, we had just returned from a few days of winter sun.

Anyway, merry Christmas everyone, I hope you're all on Santa's nice list (we can't all be on the naughty one) and have a good one!

Cheers all.

Morning all!

Just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas, and hopefully a Happy New Year. I know we are in varying states of health in our select little group, and it is not easy to be overly optimistic about what 2025 will be like, but I hope that we all have the best year we can.

Enjoy the festivities lads, and Adrian, you behave yourself πŸ˜‚

Hi guys,

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

Kev, I got my diagnosis Jan 8th 7 years ago. Nice Christmas present πŸ₯΄… Had a bone scan on the 11th and flew out to Lapland on 14th and tried not to think about it all. Been a rollercoaster of a journey since 🀣

Take care everyone, enjoy yourselves.

Merry Christmas to one and all, with a prayer that the new year brings health and happiness to us all.

My own journey has been brief and I count myself as incredibly fortunate,  I can only hope that everyone suffering ill health through this horrible disease can find some peace and rest at this time of year.

Happy Xmas all.

Four years for me Kev, Dec 2020.  I half expected it as my dad and younger brother had been diagnosed.  I hope the worse days are behind me but who can tell with this sh*t of a disease.

Anyway, Whatever everyone's 'state of play is'. I wish the very best to you all.  Happy Xmas!

Hi Spongebob, Happy New Year to you and everyone out there πŸ₯³. Let’s hope 2025 brings some happiness and good luck πŸ‘

Having a quiet one this year as the missus is working all day till 6 and still suffering the after effects of the damned virus doing the rounds.

Booked a meal out this Saturday coming instead .

Odest boy and family flew back to Jersey yesterday so all quiet here… Was lovely having them here . Just having a tidy up and putting all the toys away till next time.

This afternoon I’m looking up travel insurance as I’m only on Degarelix now for a bit so I can theoretically travel ok. And then booking up end of January flight to Jersey. Another Luton drive , hoping they restart Jersey flights from Southend again …!

It’s my 70th early April πŸ₯΄ so Jersey family coming over for that. Good to have stuff to look forward to πŸ™‚

Take care everyone ,

(🎢 enjoy yourselves, it’s later than you think , enjoy yourselves, while you’re still in the pink 🎢)
