Hi, I'm almost 8 weeks post surgery and now after a nod from my consultant starting to commute into work - 14km into London. Aside from a slight drop in performance, equivalent to being on holiday for a couple of weeks, I've not noticed any impact on comfort or strength. I've been told to not push too hard and to keep individual rides to about 30mins, which is perfect for my daily rides in and out.
You will know when the time is right, I found sitting down a little uncomfortable for the first few weeks but was running at 4 weeks and went on a 3k toboggan run week 6. This thread is 'younger men', I'm 56 so not sure if I fit into the category but have found the healing and recovery more speedy than I was expecting. I'm looking to go snowboarding in a couple of weeks.
