Tumor at the apex => radiation on sphincter??

Hello,

First off, sorry for my English -- it's not my native language.

I had RARP in July/2020, when I was 49. Since then my PSA slowly raised and reached 0.25 last month.

Gleason 7(4+3), margins were free, pT3a.

I had a talk with the radiotherapist and he said that as the tumor was localized at the apex (5% of right side, 10% of the left side), the sphincter (which is close to the apex) can't be preserved and must be irradiated.

It makes sense to me, but can anyone confirm if this is the right procedure?

Has anyone experienced the same?

How risky is to suffer from incontinence later? It's IMRT.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know the answer, so this post is mainly to bump your post up and hopefully someone more knowledgeable will answer.

My only comment would be, it seems the only option.

Dave
