advanced lymph metastasis

Hi

I'm new here, my husband was diagnosed in January with locally advanced pc. He was put on Zoladex and sent to an Oncologist who also gave him Abiraterone. He was supposed to start radiotherapy in 3 days time, but when he had the planning scan they found it had spread to his lymph nodes around the Aorta, which they weren't expecting. They now suspect he has the 'common' cancer in the prostate and pelvic lymph nodes, and suspect small cell pc in the new sites. He's been taken off Abiraterone and is starting Chemo next week, does anyone have any similar experiences, or stories of hope?

We were so positive and full of hope, now we're in the depths of despair!!

Hi,

I’m really sorry you find yourself here and that things have deteriorated since being diagnosed. It must have come as a real shock. I can’t really help you with your questions but there are lots of knowledgeable people on this forum so I’m giving your post a bump up for you. It might also help if we had more info about your husband, you could maybe fill in his profile. You could also give your CNS a phone or why not call the specialist nurses on this site….they are so helpful AND knowledgeable and will make time for you.

Also be kind to yourselves and do some really nice things together to try and keep your minds from wandering. I would also recommend keeping off Dr Google.

I wish both of you all the best on your journey.

Derek
