Hello all,
I just joined and I am writing from the US with greetings and gratitude to this site in the UK!!
My story, in brief, I am a 62 yo white male, and just retired in February. My PSA in 2020 was 1.8 ng/ml, then the pandemic, and in 2023 it was 3.4 ng/ml and a test this year was 6.7, then a repeat PSA was 4.2 and the Prostate Health Index score was 5.2. My T3 MRI showed two posterior lesions one is .65 cc, not circumscribed with a PiRad of 4, the other is 1.8 cc with a PiRad of 5. Nothing seen outside the prostate and the prostate shows chronic prostatitis with a volume of 33 cc. I just had my biopsy on Thursday and awaiting results.
I am writing as I deeply appreciate the biopsy aftercare comments regarding blood in the ejaculate because it is true that the information they give us underplays this. I felt the need to ejaculate over 24 hours after the biopsy, because they said no restriction, but other information I read afterward said to wait 3 to 5 days, then I found this site. It is true that it looks like all blood that comes out and it is alarming, but this site helped to alleviate the shock given what I've read here. Wish me luck with outcome along this journey, I am hoping for negative biopsy results.
For anyone facing the biopsy, it is not bad at all in my experience. I had many fears of pain and the discomfort is very, very tolerable, now on my second day. Wish me luck in this journey and I am sending good thoughts to all.
