The Day After Using Alprostadil - "Lifeless"!

Hi All,

I seem to have a problem on the day AFTER I take Alprostadil (40mcg. dose).  I cannot get any kind of reaction from my penis.  It appears to be "lifeless".  Usually, I can get some kind of (modest) reaction by taking Sildenafil or Cialis, but NOT if I've taken Alprostadil the day before.  I feel that this lack of response to PDE5i medication is limiting my options even further.  I am only prescribed Alprostadil once weekly, so it seems like I have one throw of the dice every week.  I can still use the vacuum pump, but I take low dose Cialis daily to enhance the effect of the pump, which usually helps, except if I've taken Alprostadil.

Has anyone else experienced this?  There is no mention of this possible reaction on the Patient Information Leaflet.  I've only been using Alprostadil 40mcg.  for 2 months.  Previously I was on a lower dose (for over a year), which was ineffective.  Is it possible that this reaction is caused by scarring to the inside of the penis already?

Any information or opinions as to what might be the cause would be very welcome.

Many thanks.

JedSee.

Hi mate.

I can't remember if I've asked you before. Have you tried Invicorp? I swear by it.

They removed Slidenafil from my prescription, as it was deemed too dangerous to take with my cardiac medication, so I was never able to test having tablets and injections at the same time. Had  I tried both, I may literally have ended up lifeless, but what a way to go! 😁

Hi mate.

Thanks for refreshing my memory, I now recall Invicorp not suiting you.

Industrial action is not an option for my penis. It's officially long term unemployed. 😁

Thanks Adrian56,

Sorry to hear about your penis's long-term unemployment.

"Fight for the right to work" was a slogan from the 1980s.  It still applies!

Good luck with Invicorp.

Hi Adrian56,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I have tried Invicorp, but it didn't work for me.  And, as it only comes at one dosage level, I couldn't increase the dose, to see if that worked, which I've been able to do with Alprostadil.  I don't know whether the 'lifeless' penis on the day after using Alprostadil is caused by my penis going on strike!

Best wishes,

JedSee.

Hi francij1,

I take your point about being content with once a week, but if that one throw of the dice is a dud, I feel frustrated that I've got to wait another week before I can try again.  Greedy?  Me?

Take good care of yourself.
