Glowing dye helps see hidden prostate cancer cells

Not sure whether it will allow surgeons to remove the cells during RARP but might speed up salvage RT based on the number of cells observed.

I had my surgery at Guys (Nov 2019) and my surgeon had been using it for a while. It was part of the package and I stipulated as an explicit requirement along with retzius sparing approach.

Yeah the trials unfortunately need a control during evaluation period. Necessary process but not something I would have wanted to be a part of. For me neuroSAFE picked up potential positive margin so surgeon took additional tissue while I was in theatre. Without neuroSAFE that would have been potentially left behind. As it turned out the histology paraffin sections showed them to be false positive….happy days ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I SO AGREE ... This too will surely help with reoccurrences.

It's such a simple idea ... AMAZED IT HASN'T BE THOUGHT OF TILL NOW. THEY USE CONTRAST WITH THE CT's and MRI's after all.

It’s a great addition to the toolbox to aid real-time visibility during surgery.

NeuroSAFE does similar and has been available privately for ~5+ years. The NHS are rolling it out as it recently got NICE approval.
