Independence Day

Well, how apt that on the 4th July I have my own personal Independence Day. I had my last Prostap injection 13 weeks ago and a reminder popped up on my calendar that my next injection should have been today, but after 2 years on this ‘stuff’ my Onco is happy for me to stop a year early as my PSA is <0.1(undetectable). I can’t tell you how happy I am to be finished this treatment hopefully for ever🤞🤞🤞

Its not been an easy 2 years but I’ve learned so much and will be MUCH better prepared should I ever have to go back on this poison, and I owe a great deal of thanks for the support of everyone on this forum and from the Maggies Centre in Fife.

Im not kidding myself that recovery is going to instant,  and my wife didnt feel the need to jump out of bed this morning to escape my clutches 🤣🤣🤣 Hopefully though I will slowly begin to feel Derekina changing back to Derek…..and I can’t  wait!

Ive not been so active in here the last few weeks but had so much going on with the ‘family’, but hopefully these are coming to an end and I can continue to offer support to the other members on their journey.

All the best to everyone on their journey’s.

Derek

Decho

I’ve followed your progress since my own diagnosis - which happens to be completely different from yours. I’ve found your positive attitude had helped me and should show that we can deal with this disease (is that the right word?).

I wish you well and look forward to your contributions to the posts on this forum.

Sounds like it's a day of celebration for a few of us as well as those ex-colonists :)

Well done!
