Help with erections

I had a full prostectomy back in 2010. The op went well and because it was done with the DeVinci robot nerves to the penis were saved. Over the next few years although the nerves were saved my ability to get and maintain an erection was diminishing. A couple of years ago I also underwent the insertion of a heart stent to control angina and was prescribed Glyceryl Trinitrate as a oral spray to relieve any chest pain.

Research online made me aware that Glyceryl Trinitrate could also be used to combat erectile disfunction. I have given this a cautious try and I'm convinced there is a definite improvement.

There is very little available information about the spray online with tests tending to use some sort of gel. Coming across this site I wondered if anybody has had a similar experience as me, and perhaps could offer more advise?

Hello mate.

I had robotic surgery, non nerve sparing, 18 months ago. I can not get natural erections but can with Invicorp injections.

2 months after my op, I had a small heart attack and had a stent fitted. I was prescribed the same oral spray as you and read that if you sprayed your 'old man' with it, it would cause an erection. It never worked for me.

But I'd give Invicorp a 4 Star review.

Good luck pal.👍

Viagra was originally a treatment for angina / high blood pressure but a surprising side effect was  improved errections

Now Viagra is a treatment for erectile disfunction (ED) with low blood pressure as a beneficial  side effect

BBC did a documentary on it probably still available on  BBCiplayer I didn't see it can't remember the name

There is definitely a link between high blood pressure being a contributing cause of  prostate cancer

Foods supporting the production of nitric oxide should really be encouraged more  my husband has a big slice of watermelon every day

Watermelon is viagra in a fruit

Hi Adrian56

Many thanks for that reply. I suspect the difference will be the nerve sparing. I will definately seek advice from my doctor on the Invecorp. I don't mind giving myself a jab as I used Caverject a few years ago. But I don't think my present med's would be suitable to start that again. When I get more information I'll get back to you.

Cheers.

Erexon during trials contained GTN as the active ingredient. This was removed (at least in the UK) before it went on sale, which is probably why everyone I've heard of who's tried it except one person has said it doesn't work.

Some people have found that GTN sprayed on the penis works, but that's completely off-label, and I've no idea if it might also do some harm or even end up with a priapism (erection which won't go away). Also, you don't want to introduce it into a partner when having sex.
