Taking a Break from HT

Since my reoccurrence back in 2023 and been on Bicalutamide 150mg since August 2023. PSA has dropped from 4.2 0.7 and my Oncologist has suggested taking a break from treatment until the PSA rises again.

I have seen the video regarding intermittent therapy, which I found very helpful.

Has anyone on the PCUK group had the same and how did it work for you?

Have they done a PSMA PET scan to find where the recurrence is and hence if it might be treatable?

If not, *if* you decide to have a hormone holiday, I would certanly try to negotiate a PSMA PET scan once the PSA goes up again.

Hello Andy.

Unfortunately my reacurrance is against the Uretha and there's also a suspicious lymph node. So I've been advised not to have surgery but for a quality of life go on HT.

That's a good point of having further scans later when the psa rises(if I do take a break).
