Help with scans

Hello, I had a prostatectomy in April but have had other symptoms which may or may not be related, which started in Feb.

I had rib pains which were discounted as they were at same time as PSMA Pet scan and MRI. However, I finally had further scans two months ago (FDG Pet and MRI) which was 'clear' apart from a lesion which had previously been described as benign.

Pains continue and I have now been scheduled for a bone scan. Does anyone have a level of knowledge of whether a bone scan could spot something versus recent scans? I can research but I'm still not clear or reassured - I had taken comfort from recent scans, until now, and also wondering whether something not spotted which is isn't related to PCa. Had a PSA recently but no results yet, had been undetectable in May.

thanks.

Hi David, I don’t have any real level of knowledge but my own case which differs from yours, the bone scan looks for unusual bone growth picking up on previous injuries even from my distant youth, and finding local hotspots , hope this helps you. Cheers Daveh
