Hi, does anyone know where to get help with the above please? I have a medical grade pump and I have tried all different kinds of rings and none of them have worked to date. Thanks in advance

I have been using VEDs and constricting rings very successfully for the past 12 years. I use SOMAERECT rings which are available in three sizes (X, Y, Z). I use the medium size, Y. I found that I was having difficulty maintaining erections for long enough so I tried two rings and it has been a great success. You can either use a Y ring at the base of the penis followed by a Z (Large) which is more comfortable, or use an old split ring instead of a large one, saving you some money. Over the years I have tried different rings but I find the SOMAERECT rings more pliable and comfortable. If you private message me I can let you view a short video to show how I manage the whole process.

How did you obtain the pump, and what model is it?

For the SOMAerect Response II obtained on NHS prescription or purchased from iMEDIcare, training is included. If you haven't had this, you can contact iMEDIcare for it.

Hi Mikey. I was prescribed with the Somaerect response 2 kit many moons again. It’s a fantastic pump and kit but the rings included were rubbish. On a separate prescription I got silicone rings with wing-tabs from the same company imedicare. The inside diameter is no more than a polo mints 😬 but they work a treat. They had X Y or Z on them. I still use the pump for regular exercise but rarely used the rings for intercourse. Just lots of gentle use regularly

Hi Mikey T.,

I don't know where you got your current tension rings from, but, as others have said, iMedi Care have a range of different types of tension rings.  Also, eBay have various sellers selling different types.  It might be a matter of trial-and-error.  I have found that the hard plastic ones keep me harder but become uncomfortable after a short while, whereas the silicone ones with the 'wing tabs' don't hold me as tight but I can keep them on for longer and they're easier to slip off.

Best wishes,

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated. I should have made my question a bit clearer, the issue I have is that I haven't found a tension ring (and I have tried lots) that keep me erect/hard enough for intercourse. I wondered that I might have some sort of issue that prevents the blood being held in. It's been 7 years since my prostatectomy (right side nerve sparing) and in that time I still haven't found a tension ring that works. The only thing that works are the injections, but they gave me peronie's disease which I eventually managed to reverse.
