Post RARP recovery

Recovery not the best - still painful to urinate (at end) and volume out is not really matching volume in, lethargic etc over the weekend.

This culminated in a night sweat last night. Real soak the sheet stuff. Something isn’t right so listening to my body I had a teleconsult this morning and have gone and had a pee test. But prior to finding out what might be happening they have started me on antibiotics for bladder/kidney infection. I was told it was over kill but if it’s not knocked on the head I might find myself having hospital meals again.
I guess the message is - don’t tough anything out, use the phone numbers you may have been given after leaving hospital to seek advice and take action.

Morning Pete.

I'm sorry to hear that you're uncomfortable and I hope the antibiotics do the trick.

Who did you contact? I'm impressed that you managed to get a telephone consultation with anyone over the weekend.👍

Definitely don't tough it out! I had peritonitis and sepsis after my RARP, nearly killed me and put me back in hospital for 3 weeks.

Hi Adrian

When I went to my test of void I got talked to by a Prostate Cancer nurse (who missed me when I was in hospital) Lots of literature and resources to watch on ED and continence. Nothing unexpected just info on massages, pumps, pills,  jabs and pads etc

Was given a card to call or email (weekdays). My Urologist also has a nurse for support but went with the one I had talked to.
My GP does teleconsult so I just managed to get a time first thing Monday morning. I had the sweats at 3am this morning so I’ve got onto it pretty quick. Had to walk up to the local pathologists for the pee test so that got me my 20min walk in - had to go the long way to miss the hill in the street😬 . Hopefully get the results in 24-48 hours to confirm if anything sinister is going on.
cheers

Pete
