How long do they continue after hormone treatment is stopped? I expect the time varies.

Thank you in advance .

Hi Mike,

I had my last Prostap injection on 4/4/24 and have noticed that my flushes both day and night are steadily getting better. At night as soon as my head hit the pillow I had a major sweat which disturbed me resulting in Insomnia. I still get them but they are milder and less frequent. I still use a bedside fan on really low setting…I find it helps with my sleeping…a bit like white noise.

Everyone is different but hopefully yours will subside sooner rather than later.

I was on Zoladex for 3 years. The ' threat' was/is that effects last for as long as you were on the treatment. I suppose this basically was true for me but obviously things eased gradually after last injection. I clearly remember having hot flushes/night sweats 2 years after HT stopped although nowhere near as bad as when on treatment and nowhere near as often, on a decreasing scale. Funnily enough, some 6 years after last Zoladex implant, I feel as though I have the occasional hot flush, which can happen, someone said we could have them for life. As I say I was on Zoladex, other ADT treatments may differ etc.
