Sling or sphincter

Hello Gentlemen.

I need to choose between having a sling fitted or an artificial sphincter , I  like the idea of the sling , it seems less intrusive but is it up to the job. The sphincter seems a lot of stuff inside you and fiddly to use. I’ m on 4 pads a day .Any advice would be gratefully received .

Thank you

Morning Peter.

I've no personal experience, but this is a link to recent research on slings and AUS.

Peter , no personal experience, except I was going to have an AUS ,other events ruled it out. Have you looked at some of the conversations on here. If not put AUS into the search box, tonypw used to be a frequent source of information, but not seen him for a while.

Thanks Chris

Hi Peter

Has your incontinence stopped improving; when did you have your Prostatectomy?

I have an AUS fitted after prostectomy and a full course of RT left me with a constant dribble when standing or moving.

I have been totally satisfied with the results, they have been completely transformational.  I wear the lightest pad to catch any drips but otherwise normal life has resumed
