Chemotherapy side effects

Hello,

My dad has metastatic prostate cancer.

I'm in UK but my dad is in Africa.

He had his first round of chemo on Monday,23rd Sept and from Thursday he has severe fatigue but was able to get up and sit for a bit but today Saturday, he couldn't even get up and unable to eat or drink anything. He does not have any other side effects.

Is this normal side effects for  chemo or is something else going on?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Hello mate.

Sorry to hear that your dad is unwell and suffering from the side effects of his chemo.

I'm not medically trained nor have I any personal experience of chemo. However, from the experiences of others on here  and the little research I've done online; it appears that side effects, like most cancer treatments, can vary enormously.

I'm sorry that I've not been much help, but if nothing else  I've bumped the thread

Thank you so much for your reply Adrian! It is very much appreciated.

My dad has got worse this morning. Something in his throat is preventing him from even taking his other medication (tablets).

We're going to seek medical support to try and find out if something else is going on .

Thanks again!
