Progression

Were 7 years in, Gleason 9 initially seminal vesicles followed by pelvic bone. After 12 months on Enzalutamide Daves PSA has only risen, it’s now at 20. At review clinic this week the consultant has suggested a CT Scan to look for progression and has said the only treatment left available is chemotherapy and it will be 3 weekly. He isnt feeling unwell, has no pain, just the awful fatigue. Im feeling that we might be coming to a new stage in the journey, chemo that we know cant cure is too slow things down and what of side effects and what might life look like soon?

Id be so grateful for some insight please, no responses so far….. am I not being clear in my request ?!

Hi,

Sorry I am not really able to help with this but just giving you a bump up the list in the hope that someone can. please don’t feel you’re being ignored, it may just be that the people who can help aren’t online at the time of your post, and I think most members look at the Recent Conversations.

Good luck.

Hi

There are a few on here who've had or are having chemotherapy. I'm sure that they'll soon be along to share their experiences.

In the meantime, I've found this conversation. I hope it helps.

Do you know how extensive his mets are? This would require a recent PSMA PET scan, or at least a recent bone scan.

If he has no more than 3 mets, he might be eligible for SABR treatment on them, something which wasn't available 7 years ago. This is only offered at some hospitals, so it might require a referral elsewhere if his local hospital can't do SABR or PSMA PET scans.

Thank you for this information. He’s waiting for a CT scan, no mention of PET or bone scans. The hospital does offer SARB, Christie Manchester. I’ll ask questions, thanks again.
