Found blood in Semen at 36

Hi All, really nervous about this and hope I am in the right place and not offending anyone, but mentally I’m really struggling and the ‘wait and see’ period is really difficult so just looking for any advice please.

so three days ago on Thursday of last week there was a lot of red blood in my pre-semen. I am not aware of any other symptoms prior to this or understand where it has came from.

I have been to A&E who did a urine test and this came back negative.

since then there is a little blood at the start of a urination that isn’t always visible but did show blood in the test and I’ve had on and off burning sensation (nothing for the last 10hrs)

obviously I am worried sick but just being told to wait until next week where if there is still blood they will do more tests.

I’m struggling to sleep and thinking the worst, does anyone have any advice or experience of this that can put my mind to rest please?

Sojo88, although not unheard of prostate cancer at 36 is probably unlikely. Have you had a PSA test, although again not 100 percent conclusive.

There are lots of other reasons for blood in semen. Apparently blood in semen is quite common in guys under 40.

Keep on to your doctor until you get a answer, a simple urine dip test will not always show up and infection.

Thanks Chris,

im in with a urologist tomorrow but thats just a consultation. I am having an ultrasound tonight to see if that reveals anything at all that could help me. Feeling really stressed out

Blood in semen needs to be checked out because there's a small chance it could be cancer. High blood pressure is a possible cause too. Most often, the cause is never found, but in the process, anything serious is ruled out.

Blood just at the start or just after finishing peeing is usually also from the prostate.

June of 2023 i discovered bright red blood in my semen. It scared me alot. Then it never stopped every time I had sex with the wife. My doctor did a rectum exam with was neg. Blood test urine test neg. Std panel neh. Cystoscopy neg. I push my Dr to do a 45 min MRI FOR the prostate and it show slide enlarge prostate. No meds no follow up I was told not to worried. .

My PSA is 2.9 age 48 yr old male.

The Dr. Has no concerns. I had blood in the semen until mid OCT since June. Dec 9th 2024 I had another episode of bring cleared since Oct. The dr said not to worry eventually is going away.

I was like u stressed depressed fearful for my life. I have 2 kids. I done my own study . I. Eating less red meat less greasy process food my natural teas... I'm still scared. What really scares me is that I pee blood 4 to 5 times before it turns yellow. Then if I have sex I will pee. Blood again...in fact I email my Dr Monday the 9th.

Where do u live ? Age? do u bleed blood when u pee for 4 to 5 times too ?
