Happy anniversary??

This time on November 5th 2021, I was spread out on an operating table receiving close attention from a robot that was magically removing my diseased prostate and putting my insides back together again. "Congratulations!" said the surgeon six weeks later. "You are cured. The cancer is all gone." "Guaranteed", he said in response to my searching request for his measure of certainty.

Today is November 5th 2024 and session number eighteen (of 33) of my SRT. Nuff said.

Hi Peter.

Perhaps your surgeon has Messiah complex. 🤔

At least you're now halfway there with the salvage treatment. I wish you well mate. 👍

I had my op on Valentines day. I must have upset the listing officer.

Hi Peter,

My 5th Ralpiversary is this Friday.. so the surgeon had a couple of years practice before he operated on you 😉

You're over halfway through SRT now so hopefully it's all going smoothly.

Good luck,

Kev.

Hi Adrian, Kev

Yes, just over half way through but also just beginning to get the side effects that I had been told to expect. It's a real pain trying to hold a full bladder when one of the safety valves is no longer there. Already failed on one occasion. Hey ho, in the waiting room now. Once more into the breach.......

Hi plexx09,

Sorry to hear that.  The surgeon sounds like an arrogant 'bar steward'.  It also seems very unprofessional to mislead people in that way.  I hope the SRT  is bearable.

Best wishes,

JedSee.

You're not wrong about trying to hold a full bladder. I had a sudden urge to pee during one session, I clenched just before the beam switched off and spent hours worrying about it.

I only had 20 fractions. Most of mine were in LA12, I liked the picture of trees on the ceiling.

Good luck.

Kev.

Kev, Most of mine are LA12 but I was in LA11 yesterday. Similar trees on ceiling but lit up more brightly. I'm now wishing I was on 20 sessions. I'd be done on Thursday. But the onco recommended 33 as he said it would be gentler and minimise side effects. True or wishful thinking? Who knows?
