Hello all,

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am inspired by some amazing people and stories on this forum.

I am a fit and healthy 41 year old. 4-5 weeks ago I started to notice that I was urinating much more frequently. I don't get up in the night but right from when I wake up at 6am I am desperate for a pee. Then as the day goes on I am going quite frequently and then this week the flow has become weaker and it take a little bit of time to come out and then it may go in stops and starts and not much come out. I may go and then need to go again 30 mins later for example.

I also have a very very slight discomfort in lower back and front of stomach.

I am of course very worried, I have blood tests booked in 2 weeks time through GP.

Could a UTI last this long? Would an enlarged Prostate cause symptoms to come on this fast and make such a significant difference?

Thank you very much,

Sham

Hi Sham

From my personal experience, the symptoms you have could be benign prostatitis/enlarged prostate. I suffered from similar symptoms for many years, had biopsies etc which always produced negative results. However I continued to have regular PSA tests and eventually was diagnosed with PC. Hopefully there is nothing sinister but best to keep an eye on it and make sure you have regular PSA tests. Good luck.

Hi Sham.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm not medically trained but there are numerous  non cancerous disorders that could be causing your symptoms. Hopefully your blood test results will identify the problem.

Best of luck mate.
