Lymph node Radiotherapy

Hi, I am just about to have 5 sessions of radiotherapy to a suspicious 7mm lymph node which me Oncolgist is confident will address the slight rise in my PSA (currently 2.29)

Quick question.

Has anyone else had this treatment and how did it go?

Good luck everyone

Dave , I have had two separate lymph nodes treated with 5 SABR sessions on two separate occasions.

My profile does have some info. The PSA dropped after the first tumor was treated but then started to rise. A second PSMA scan showed that the tumor was shrinking but they found a second tumor. The second tumor was then treated in August 2023 but the PSA started to rise again. I also had six months of Bicalutamide with the second course of SABR treatment.

At a PSA of 1.4 a third PSMA did not show anything of significance.

So it looks like the SABR was useful but I still have something lurking in there. Next blood test in a couple of days and see oncologist next week.

I have not had any side effects from the two lots of SABR. We took advantage of my wife's health insurance for the second course and as long as they keep paying and the oncologist agrees I am happy to keep repeating it. The NHS do/ did has a policy of not treating more than 3 hot spots.

Hope all goes well.

Thanks Chris

Added , near the bottom of my profile they is a link to treatment of oligometastatic cancer.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the information. Glad you had a successful treatment and no side effects. My Radiologist did say not to expect any issues.

Good luck to us both

Cheers
