Degarelix new side effect.

Changed from Prostap to Degarelix to try to reduce testosterone further , last PSA 0.08. Yesterday after my 7th Degarelix I spiked a temperature and had flu like symptoms , never had this before , all OK this morning.

Since changing to Degarelix I have nightime incontinence so need to wear a pull up to bed .

Aiso have had a eye stroke so take blood thinners and full statin dose since starting Degarelix.

Thankfully only 4 more to go .

Mike..

Hi Mike,

sorry to hear that. cant really help but it sounds as though degarlix is even worse than Prostap. I hope you get some relief from the side effects.

There is now an alternative to Degarelix available on the NHS, Relugolix.

It works the same way (GnRH Antagonist) but is a daily tablet, so doesn't generate the injection site reaction. I doubt if things like stroke risk are different though.
