Urethral Stricture before Surgery

I have a urethral stricture caused by damage from laser TURP several years ago. I have been doing ISC for a number of years to keep the stricture clear.

I have recently been diagnosed with PC and the stricture in making things more complicated. I have been told radiotherapy is not suitable and surgery has and significantly increased risk of incontinence.

Any one else had any experience of having a radical prostatectomy with existing urethral stricture?

I developed a urethral stricture because of radical prostatectomy. There has been a few guys on here who had TURP but don't recall seeing anyone on here who had stricture before RARP. I had a suprapubic catheter fitted before salvage RT. They never sorted my stricture. I was going to have urethral reconstruction and AUS after salvage RT but my bladder capacity reduced and it was not a practical option.

Thanks Chris

Do you know where the stricture is?
Is it in part of the urethra which is being removed, or will it be staying?

Hi the stricture is level with the external sphincter and they are intending to leave this in place and see how things are after the surgery.
