Metallic taste and breath after SRT

I have just completed 33 sessions of SRT to my prostate bed and lymph nodes and am experiencing a metallic taste in my mouth and I am certain, a metallic tang to my breath. I understand this is common with treatment to the tongue, face and neck but can find nothing that suggests it is normal when the pelvic area is treated. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Peter,

There is research suggesting that radiation anywhere, including for prostate cancer, can cause metallic and other taste issues.

Of course, it could also be caused by other conditions rather than radiotherapy.

I hope it passes and that you're soon back to normal, mate. 👍

Thanks Adrian. I wasn't aware of that.
