How not to spend the lead up to Christmas!

Hello, just wanted to start a conversation, I'm 64, my father had PCa but made it till 91 and because of his condition I've had my PSA tested every year (and now 6 months) for about 15 years. My PSA has slowly increased as I've got older, currently 4.9, up from 3.9 six months ago but that was down from 4.4 a year ago. Latest PSA test done 17/12/24 and because it was higher than 4.5 was sent for a scan. Had the MRI and my PiRad (score of 4) back already which is amazing - thanks NHS. MRI showed that it was or seemed contained, but with changes on the left side. Biopsy on 14/01/25. Having spent a great deal of time on here and spoken to a PCUK nurse (who was fab) I'm about as relaxed as I could be but obviously nervous because one never knows.

Thanks for reading & happy new year all

Happy new year. I'm glad you have 15 years of PSA tests to look back on. If you had only had one PSA test and it came back as 4.9 you would probably be in a blind panic, as a lot of people are when they make their first post.

Good luck with the biopsy, let's hope you are still in the clear, and if not it is almost certainly early enough to either go on AS or have a less aggressive treatment.

Dave
