Stress incontinence post surgery

Hi All,

I have suffered with stress incontinence since my thankfully successful radical prostatectomy in April 23.
I recently had a course of treatment using a Tesla Ultra seat (also known as an Emsella chair). The non-invasive treatment exercises the pelvic floor and the improvement in my condition has been dramatic. I am now largely continent, with just some incontinence when running, playing walking football and sometimes when playing golf. But overall, a vast improvement.
I had the treatment at Cirone Health, Stamford, Lincs. If you are suffering with the problem it is well worth giving them a call.
All the best guys.

Hi Chris,

I thought dribbling was football skill?

Joking apart, mate, welcome to the forum. 🙂

Hi,

i ended up having 14 sessions (two per week for seven weeks). Noticeable improvements took place from session seven onwards. The incremental improvements from the rest of the sessions were smaller but still significant.
After about three sessions I felt more able to sense my pelvic floor. Since then the exercises which I am still doing six times a day have been more effective.
Prior to using the seat I don’t think I was doing my pelvic floor exercises well enough to be effective.
Hope this helps.

Hi,

An interesting post, and good to see that you're making progress on the continence front.

Cheers,

Kev.

Hi Christopher, thanks for posting, this is a situation my husband is dealing with at the moment!

He had RARP in January 2024, aged 62, all successful and all contained in prostate with clear PSAs since.

Catheter was in situation for four weeks because of a difficult join of urethra to bladder.

He has never regained his continence despite religiously doing pelvic floors. There was a slight improvement after about six months but then has plateaued. He is still under the urologist at the operating hospital as they are talking about possibly further surgery to improve the situation. .

Anyway, he discovered the Emsella chair treatment and has paid privately to give it a go. He has had six sessions over last 6 weeks, the last one today. As yet he hasn’t noticed any difference.

Can you tell us how many sessions you had please?

Thanks

Debbie
