Surgery for venous leak?

User

Hi All

I am 5 yrs post radical prostatectomy and doing fine except I have a degree of ED due to venous leak. I can get by if I use a ring, but my wife doesn't like it.

Viagra isn't a total solution and I HATE feeling like I have a heavy cold.

I spoke to a consultant about surgery and he said it wasn't recommended because the penis grows more blood vessels, negating the benefit after a couple of years. He said the only solution is an implant, but I am nowhere near bad enough for that.

Is anyone aware of any new advances in this area, or surgeons who are confident of a good outcome?

Have you tried penile injections. Apparently despite venous leakage they can work?

No. Firstly the words penis and injection should not be used in the same sentence! Secondly I was hoping for a more natural solution.

Oops sorry I tried to help. 😁

Firstly. Penis and injections are words that some of us on here have to use in the same sentence.

Secondly. How natural is using a cock ring?  Invicorp contains a drug that helps keep blood in the penis. An Invicorp erection looks like a natural erection, without unsightly rings.

I know you were trying to help, but I don't like needles at the best of times and to inject my penis... I think I'd take a vow of celibacy first.

I did try the intraurethral pills / seeds and they were awfully uncomfortable whilst being ineffective.

You're right, a ring isn't natural, but it's the least bad option at the moment.

I've found, that since my prostatectomy, I've become over protective of my poorly penis, probably because he can't stand up for himself. 🙂

Did you have nerve sparing?

No mate. Non nerve sparing. I was told that I would never be able to get a natural erection again. Unfortunately, two years post op, this has proved to be the case.

The only thing that works for me is Invicorp. It works everytime but only about 80% as good as pre op erections, but it's better than nowt.

I appreciate that it's not suitable for those with needle phobia.

I was full nerve sparing on one side, 60% on the other. So I am a bit disappointed tbh.

I had ultrasound therapy which, if anything, made it worse.

I fully understand your disappointment  Piers.  I couldn't 'perform' at all for 7 months after surgery. I was as dead as a Dodo down below. I went to the ED clinic and was eventually prescribed Invicorp. It was a life saver for me. It made me feel that I was a man again.
