On Monday (18th January 2024) I shall talk to my consultant with the result of my biopsy so see if you can guess what delights that will bring.

Will it be a 3 + 4 or maybe a 4 +3. Do they even have a 4 + 4 ( stupid me I suppose that’s an 8)

You may think this is a little flippant  and even self indulgent but hell I need to get some humour back in to my life (possibly the result of too much research)

I am guessing my little sphincter is in mortal danger despite the consultants reassuring words

The following is a copy of my mpMRI Scan report

Scan Results

Findings: The prostate measures 22mls in volume PSAD 0.21

There is a small volume TZ.

In the Rt anterior apical TZ there is T2 low signal nodule

9 x 8mm. It shows a small volume of restriction with intense early enhancement making it likely to represent tumour – Likert 4. There are no other TZ lesions.

The PZ returns a heterogenous T2 high signal.

There are no local T2 low signal lesions and no areas of restricted diffusion making csPC unlikely.

There is 4mm of local enhancement in the Lt apical PZ which is inderterminant and should be sampled at the time of biopsy.

There are no capular lesion and the sphincter and seminal vesicles return a normal signal

There is no local bladder lesion

There is no significant bone lesions

There is no lymphadenopathy

Conclusion:

The prostate volume is 22 mls with a significantly raised PSAD.

There is probable tumour in the Rt anterior apex where there is a 9mm diameter lesion. There are no other Likert 4/5 lesions but an area of equivocal signal change in the Lt apical PZ should also be sampled at the time of biopsy.

There is no capsular, sphincter or SV lesions.

No abnormality is seen within the pelvis.

Can I just thank anyone and everyone that has anything to do with this forum for all the good work that they have done to help the men and their loved ones to deal with this disease that is full of uncertainty

jayzee, might just be me but the layout is s bit odd, the moderators may sought that.

Just in case you are going to lose you upper sphincter, start exercising the pelvic sphincter now by doing pelvic floor exercises.

Hope you get the best possible outcome.

Thanks Chris

We like flippant, and irreverent is particularly welcome. So many people are despondent on receiving a diagnosis. I'm not too sure what your diagnosis will be. If you can accept it for what it is and treat it for what it is, you will be doing fine.

Hi Jayzee.

I've had so many different Gleasons scores.

6 (3+3), 7 (3+4), 7 (4+3), 8 (4+4), 8 (3+5) and 9 (4+5)

I'm beginning to think my were made by a chimp throwing two dice. 😁

As for being flippant. They say 'Laughter is the best medicine' IF you can keep a sense of humour, even if its just a "You've gotta laugh or you'll cry" mentality, it will help.

Best of luck with your results mate and keep us updated.👍

Hi Gus and thanks for asking

Not what I was hoping for Twas 4+3 rather than the 3+4 which you had

Consultant says he will see me again on the 29th after an MDT

Seems there are so many variable here that making an informed choice of treatment makes your head spin

Hope your PSA result comes out good next month

Thanks to all who posted for your kind words

Cheers for now
