A little recap

my husband was diagnosed in may 2021 was given degrilax right away, he then had chemotherapy he also has had bicultamide had radiotherapy on his hip and has been on enzalutamide since may 2024 but his psa has never gone below 4, this month it was over 8, just had a telephone conversation with oncologist who has now ordered more scans and will see us face to face when all results are in, it’s hard not to worry I wonder what is next

hope everyone is well

Yes

Apparently it's immunotherapy treatment there's no guarantee that it will work and for the first month I will have to travel to London (300 mile round trip)every week then every 2 weeks for good knows how long, but you have to give these things a try.

Update

husband saw the oncologist today for results of recent scans although PSA has been rising there is no significant changes, what a relief!!! He is however going to do radiotherapy around his groin and back to ease some pain, he said try not to get to fixated on psa numbers, he is keeping him on current treatment which is enzalutamide and prostap injection.

hope everyone is well

Hi

That's good to hear,I'll echo what your team is saying about PSA,I no it's difficult because I'm exactly the same when it comes to PSA but try not to get hooked on numbers,as long as he's coping and QOL is good.

Wishing you all the best Phil

Hi Ann

Go for it girl 👍

If you need holiday insurance try insurance and go,I had them for Vegas and New York last year,it won't be cheap but I recommend them.

Hi Ann

I did the reverse route enzalutamide then chemo(Docetaxel) as you probably know.

Next for me is a clinical phase 3 trial at the Royal Marsden in London but if I hadn't explored that route it would have been cabizitaxel down the NHS route,I may still be given it if I'm not chosen for the experimental arm of the trial.

Hope this helps all the best Phil

Hi Phil

yeah it’s so easy to get fixated on psa numbers and it sort of takes over you life a little bit, anyway I’ve said to my husband when we go for his blood results and tablets we are not going to ask about psa if anything is not right the oncologist will soon be in touch, we have 2 grandchildren in Canada so we are looking into going for a month in the summer so I’m going to sort that out soon give us something to look forward to

best wishes

Thanks Phil

we usually use insurwith never had any problems with them.
We’ve used them for going to Canada and America. I will definitely keep that one in mind if I have any problems.

best wishes
