Hi Male 64.

Just would like members thoughts on the following.

Had back pain/needing to get up in night .

Saw GP last year in June and did PSA,Came back at 5.0.

Have had monitoring bloods since and came back as 5.4, 5.8 ,6.5 last one Dec24.

GP did WW fast track and had MRI on 10th with result on 17th of P Rad4.

Could have had Biopsy this week but declined as I have a Heart Ablation on 30th and as on blood thinners need at least 4 weeks before any other.

Now my ask for thoughts, after of chatting with other half my gut feeling is postpone Ablation and get Biopsy done ,which can be on 31st next week.

My GP said yes, Eurolgy said down to me and Cardiac have said Ablation first.

With heart issue have been sympton free for a year controlled my medication.

Any thoughts or comments.

Thanks

Bobby, I don't like the phrase that prostate cancer is slow growing, at some point the first cell leaves for pastures new. Your PSA doesn't look to be racing away, were it nearer to 20 I would want action sooner rather than later. You obviously want or need to get sorted. You can live for years with prostate cancer, I suspect treating the heart is more important, but I am not a medic.

Ring the number at the top.of the page and speak to one of the nurses.

Thanks Chris

Hi Bobby,

I'm sorry that you're having possible prostate problems, but welcome to the forum mate.

I've had to deal with heart problems and PCa. I know the waiting list for any cardiac treatment in my Trust is very lengthy. If you cancel your heart ablation how long will you be waiting for another? I had a heart attack a couple of months after prostate cancer surgery. The heart attack felt much more immediately life threatening than prostate cancer. I'd always prioritise treatment for my heart over prostate cancer treatment, but its only a decision that you can make..

Good luck mate.

Hi Bobby

That's a bit of a conundrum then. If it was me, I'd get my heart sorted first. There's clearly something going on with your Prostate, but there's no point getting that sorted just to have your heart pack up?

Just my opinion of course. Good luck with your decision making. Let us know how you get on.

Ian.

Thanks all for comments.

Had a call today from a Eurolgy consultant, his advice was to continue Heart treatment first, then do Prostate. He will arrange another MRI in 4 weeks time to compare.

I have bloods for Ablation next week so a PSA will also be taken.

A bit more at ease now.
