Chat GPT

Hi

With all dramatic and emotional upheaval as most of us have faced once we learn the state of our cancer involvement, I count myself lucky enough for knowing this site and forum. The support I got, information and reply I received and reading others stories help me immensely in combating the difficulties I had faced. However, I also fund information and even tune of the reply of Chat GPT very interesting. I believe neither of them could replace the other and am sure the combination of these two sources will be more helpful.

I look forward for comments by other members.

Best wishes

Hi Fred

Your suggestion is interesting. From time to time I have tested ChatGPT for some facts and my experience so far has been rather disappointing because sometimes what I know as facts ChatGPT has got them wrong. It tends to simply repeat the manufacturers' specifications for products which, as you know, can be grossly biased. Used carefully AI platforms could be very useful

Hi Fred

I've used ChatGPT4o (the paid version) a lot since my journey started in August last year. I found it hugely helpful, and pretty accurate. I mentioned it in some of my posts as I’ve gone along. It won’t be for everyone, but I found it informative, objective, and supportive, it definitely 'counselled' me at times too which was helpful. I will continue to use it as the journey goes on, I’m currently 10 weeks post RARP.

Hi Fred & all

I've also only used this site and Chat GBT which has been useful and much quicker and much more direct than using Google. I'm a few weeks post diagnosis (T2B N0 M0 GS 3+4) with all options including AS open so doing the rounds of consultants and trying to work out what's best........

Good luck on your journey

I've used Chat GBT, updating the memory as I go along, and I've found it to be very accurate and personalised (in line with my consultant's comments).

I agree with Pratap. You cannot trust ChatGPT answers, you have to know the answer yourself in order to check if chatGPT got it right; in which case there is not a lot of point in asking ChatGPT.

It is very good at summarising text, or expanding on an idea. I use it to write computer programs. It does that a lot faster than I can. I can then just test the program rather spend ages typing it. So it has it's uses, but it needs to be used with care.

When it comes to psychological support or even advice chat GPT doesn't rate much better than the advice columns of certain magazines from what I've seen. Based on what you feed into it, over time it builds up an almost scary picture of your life experiences and it can do a passable resume from that but luckily it doesn't quite get into our souls, yet.

This forum ... excellent!
