Annual update

User
Posted 08 Feb 2025 at 08:04

Hello everyone.  Diagnosed in November 2016, age 46.  pT3bN0M0 and Gleason 9.

Prostatectomy followed by salvage radiotherapy and 18 months of hormone therapy (bicalutimide).

February 2025, PSA <0.025 - the lowest possible reading on the machine at my lab.

Thank you to those of you who supported me as I made my treatment decisions.  And, to those of you with a Gleason 9 diagnosis, don't lose hope.

(Markac_99, your inbox is full and I can't reply to your question.)

Thanks for the update, mate. From one Gleason 9er to another, it's great to hear good news.

Thank you for posting your story, it's been very helpful to me. 👍

That’s great news Ulsterman, I’m really pleased for you. Like you, I was T3b but only Gleason 7. I wasn’t offered surgery, but if I knew then what I know now,  I would have pushed for it even if I needed SRT like yourself.

good luck for the future,

Derek

Fantastic news ,always wonder about those that don’t post regularly! Hoping that its not for another reason . Gary is 9 ( and a bit) yrs,4+5 with lymph node spread .Still working and PSA undetectable. It’s forums like this and the fantastic community of men and partners that help those that are traveling this path .

Best wishes till your next update .

Great result. I managed to get a PSMA scan and subsequent treatment after quoting your scan results to my oncologist 👍
