peyronie's disease

Hi All,

I know there are a fair few posts about this already with plenty of advice. What I haven't heard is anyone saying they have had much success with any treatments. Some people have mentioned that it sometimes self-corrects, but that usually seems to happen after Peyronie's after RT?

My own situation is that I had RP just over 8 years ago, I have used the response II pump and Invicorp, then about two years ago I developed a bend to the left. It's fairly pronounced and does cause some problems with intercourse, but doesn't make it impossible. I have ordered a smaller tube for the pump to try that, but I haven't heard anyone on here saying they have had success with it.

Also is there any other advice, is it helpful to use lots of lubrication for instance, or has anyone had results with any other treatment? I know that there is an operation, but that corrects by shortening the fully operating side of the penis, but that means a shortening in length, which I don'y fancy, I lost enough length with the op!

Thanks.

Some advice I got from a urologist was immediately get going with the pump twice a day (penile physio - without a constriction ring), while you're waiting for an appointment with a Peyronie's specialist. That fixed mine in 5 weeks, and when the urology appointment finally came through several weeks after that, there was nothing left of it. I didn't have or use the narrower Somacorrect tubes, but if you have them, they may work better.

This was a case with no detectable internal scarring - it may be different if you do have detectable plaques inside the penis (which you feel for when flaccid). Mine was probably just reversing some fibrosis due to decline in use while on HT, and it did correspond to me having got bored with penile physio, so it does demonstrate just how important that is.

Hi Mark,

I developed Peyronie’s whilst on HT, not sure if it was caused by RT or just lack of use. I have really struggled with the Soma pump even though I got the Somacorrect with the narrower tubes. Several times I have caught the skin of my penis in the pump, leading to bruising and sometimes bleeding, nothing serious but a bit sore. I use the B cylinder inside the C cylinder and, start with the 2 rubber sleeves on the end then down to one as I become erect. I really don’t think this pump is designed for growers rather than showers!

Ive found that by using copious amount of lube(I use asda jelly which is much cheaper!) helps prevent skin getting caught.

Because of my problems with the pump, and the fact that it’s messy to clean up everything, I haven’t been as studious as Andy in using it. It is however getting slowly better, and now that I’m starting to get natural erections again I am hoping for continued improvement.

I did make an appointment privately with a a specialist consultant on Peyronie’s who was able to diagnose it very quickly. He did say I could have surgery by it’s generally not successful. He also recommended another device from iMedicare which looks like something out of a torture chamber! It is well worth spending £250 or whatever on seeing a specialist…and don’t be surprised if they ask to look at the palms of your hands🤷🏼‍♂️

Good luck in getting it sorted.

Derek

Hi,

Thank you both for the input. It is re-assuring to hear that people are having success with this method. I already have the response II pump and I have been using it for the last 4 weeks 3 times a week, It doesn't seem to be making a lot of difference. However I ordered the 'B' tube to fit inside the standard tube, I tried it for the first time last night. It was a very good fit and I am hopeful for the future.

I'm not sure whether I have any plaque, I can't seem to feel anything myself, the bend in my penis isn't too pronounced compared to some I have read about. I noticed the harder my erection, the less pronounced the bend is.

I did have a long period without using anything so maybe that is what caused it. Either that or the invicorp injections I used when I was more active.

Anyway thanks again, and I will let you know how I get on on here.

Yes, I think the B tube is better for correcting it unless you are well endowed…I guess you would soon know if it was too small. I found using the C tube on its own just didn’t give me a proper erection know matter how hard(sorry!) I tried. My target is to get near the end of the tube, but I’ve got a bit to go yet….youve just got to laugh🤣🤣🤣
