CURATE / TT-702 clinical trial: anyone here on it?

A couple of weeks ago, I put myself forward for consideration for clinical trials.  I've been offered a place on the CURATE / TT-702 trial, which involves a new medication (taken orally) which targets the A2B receptor on cancer cells.

I wondered if anyone else here was on this trial, and wanted to share their experience of it, either on here or via private messages?  I'd be very grateful if anyone that has experience wanted to get in touch.

Yes disappointing news Craig

I know how you feel when I signed up to my trial and ended up with the normal treatment not the experimental arm, there's always some thing to put your head under the water when your just about keeping it above, but we're strong swimmers and we'll keep on going.

Hi Craig

I'm not on this trial so can't help there, but I followed your link and it seems very similar to the trial I'm on next week, where it is like immunotherapy, the lead investigator is the same person and one of the locations where it's being held is the same.

Do you know what phase the trial is?and what is the arm it's being put up against?

Cheers phil

Hi Craig

Yes your right with phase 1 trials there is no alternative,at least you know your getting the drug, phase 1 trials are more risky but you'll be well looked after and like they say you need to buy a ticket to win the lottery.

Wishing you all the best and defo keep us all updated...Phil

Just to update this:  unfortunately, I'm not going on the trial as my kidney function isn't good enough.  A nephrostomy was suggested but there's no guarantee it would work sufficiently well to make me eligible, and I'd rather avoid surgery if possible.

It would have been interesting (and possibly helpful) to have made it onto the trial, but it is what it is.

Hi Phil - thanks for that, it's a phase 1 trial and as far as I can work out, they're establishing the effective dose of the medication in humans, after successful tests in animals and in vitro.

Because it's an early trial they tell me I'll definitely get the drug (possibly in combination with another), they haven't got to the blind-testing phase etc yet.

I'll be meeting with the team in the coming days and will update with anything significant ...

Having the consent meeting, bloods and CT & bone scans up at The Christie on Monday to ensure I'm eligible from the trial, things are moving quickly ... I'll update with news as I get it.
