Hi, Steve had a 12 month (post op) follow up meeting with urologist today, mainly to discuss his ongoing incontinence issue which is considered severe.  Basically urologist confirmed what we suspected that it’s not going to improve on its own at this stage. Statistically he’s just one of the unlucky ones (5 out of 100 men remain incontinent post RARP).

options are to either ‘live with it’ or consider surgery to implant an AUS device….

so, anyone on here had this procedure/living with an AUS and willing to give any insights please?

thanks

Hi Debbie.

I'm sorry to hear that Steve is still struggling with incontinence.

If you put AUS in the search box. It comes up with a few conversations which you might find helpful.

Hi. AUS operation was the best thing that happened to me. Know of one other who also has implant and is extremely happy with result. I believe over 95% of people who have AUS are very satisfied.
Hope this helps
