5 Months In to a Robotic Prostatectomy

Just asking for a bit of feed back on getting back in the saddle with the wife.

I am 5 months into gave my prostate removed and things are pretty lifeless in the cellar. I had a T3 a N nodes gleason score of 7.

I haven’t really taken any tablets as yet, I had some but they made me sick but now i am to start my Tadalafil 5mg tablets. I was very lucky that i haven’t needed pad or anything for leakage below. However i worried about the bedroom gymnastic’s returning at some point, if at all! Is it still early days? just reaching out for some advice as its a tricky matter to discuss with others who have not been through it. Any advice welcome thanks Ricky

Hi Ricky

Have a read through the post: "Re-establishing Sex Life by Pratap & Jeannie Mehta"

It's an incredibly informative and supportive post throughout the 37 replies to it. The last post to the thread was yesterday.

I hope this is of some help.

Best regards,

Seb

If you're struggling, mate, try Invicorp.

It took longer than that for me, somewhere around 9 months.

I took tadalafil and used a pump from about 3 months, apparently it keeps the penis healthy so that it is ready when the right stage in recovery is reached. Whether action would sill have returned without it I don't know.

Things won't be the same - if nothing else there is no semen which is mostly made by the prostate - and at least in the first place it will probably need tactile assistance from your wife. But fun is still possible - good luck!

Hi Rick,

Assuming you had nerve sparing surgery, I think 5 months is still early days, your nerves will have had a bit of a battering. It took me a good eight months before anything started happening down below.

I think it's important to keep the intimacy going in the bedroom and try not to get hung up on the lack of erections, even though it may feel weird and off-putting. As others have said, have some fun.

I also agree with trying injections, I found them very useful for bridging the gap until natural eerections were up to the job.

Good luck,

Kev.

Full nerve sparring. Took 12 months for some level of recovery. 2 years on I would consider I am 95% of where I was pre op. It can take time I am afraid.
