Prostate to Omentum

Hi I was diagnosed 2015 and had a radical prostectomy.  PSA rose in 2024 to 7.9 and discovered has moved to the omentum.  No symptons and no sign of it in the  lymph nodes or bones so started the hormone injections in November 2024.  PSa now down to 1. Has anyone experienced this as I believe it's very unusual? Was due to start chemo on 3rd Jan but had a stroke so this is now delayed and will start enzalutamide 27th March.  Looking for your thoughts and experiences.

Sorry, I can't help you, as I've never experienced it, I wish you a speedy recovery.

Sorry not heard of this before. Tumors can form anywhere even in the Brain but this too is rare. Your Consultant has determined treatment and as nobody here is qualified can't say how appropriate this will be. It is most usually the case that HT, at lest initially, lowers PSA greatly.

Gary, was it a sudden rise or was it slowly creeping up. Were you being monitored since your surgery.

Thanks Chris

I have no experience of this but recently came across the term omentum.  I have a stomach hernia where the prostatectomy cut was made at and below my belly button. The hernia is described as having omentum fat protruding and will be untreated unless it gets painful.

That said the prostate is usually removed through that cut and some people say it poses a risk of depositing cells. After 9yrs it's a long time to lie dormant but it's one possibility.
