Urinary Sphinctar

Hi All,

8 years since RP and 7 years since 33 radiation. Always had trouble with waterworks despite daily pelvic floor exercises.October 24 had Cystoscopy and bladder neck dilation. Since then have had major problems with incontinence, now using up to 10 pads per day. I have now been referred to another Urology Consultant with a view to having a Urinary Sphincter fitted.

I would like to hear from anyone who has had this experience, and did it work? Was it painful, how did you get on with it?

Many thanks.

Barry.

Hi Barry

Sorry to hear you are in this position, my husband is in the same position, 12 months post RALP, his sphincter was damaged during his op (it happens occasionally) so he has never regained his continence. He is just waiting to see the surgeon to discuss having one fitted.

If you search on here and put AUS in the search bar, you can see some of the posts and info as there are a couple of men who have had them fitted and detail their experiences.
