Hot flushes re using sage tablets

Hi, I've been on hormone treatment since last September. All the usual issues, but 2ould like to reduce the impact of the hot flushes.  I've heard that sage tablets can help, but there are so many variations.  Any advice on which ones are effective would be appreciated

Fenugreek worked for me

Just a note to say there is an interaction between sage and Enzalutamide, so if you're on Enzalutamide, probably best to stay off sage.

If sage doesn't work for you, you can ask your oncologist for a medication. Cyproterone, Medroxyprogesterone, or Megestrol can be prescribed for this. You do need periodic liver function tests on these medications.

Sage didn't work for me.  Steering clear of megaprogesterone at the moment - I don't want the man boobs to develop!

I don't think any of those increase the risk beyond the increased risk you already have from being on hormone therapy. They are mild hormone therapies in their own right, but nowhere near as powerful as the hormone therapies used for prostate cancer.

If breast gland growth or pain becomes an issue, ask for Tamoxifen.
