Oncology meeting

Hi all.  Had my first and possibly only oncology appointment Thursday.  Was a brief affair.  He came in, sat on a chair and asked a few questions about my health etc.  He then said my p a is contained, not spread  and bone scan was nothing to worry about ( wish I had heard that weeks ago )   He said if I’d not took a test would be 2 years before I’d have developed symptoms.   He discussed ht and radiotherapy and surgery.   He said have a think.   Contact your nurse    No rush.    Shook my hand and left.   As my psa is 23.   AS isn’t an option ( although I wouldn’t have took this anyway )     After panicking all night before it was brief and to the point.

Hi Simon.

I found that my consultations always seemed rushed. Unfortunately, to the NHS, we are just another number in the queue that needs ticking off the list ASAP. If you're looking for some sympathy it's in the NHS dictionary somewhere between sh*t and syphilis.🙂

Having said that, it's not their fault. They do as good a job as can be expected, with the workload they face and the resources available to them.

I expect that you will now be deciding which radical treatment to take. This video might help you.

Hi.  Cheers.   Yeah I sort of took solace in the fact it was , looked at results.   Not spread. Contained.   You need treatment.   Get your head round it.  Cheers.   Next !
