Biopsy timescales

I know this will vary between trusts , but was just wondering how long from initial triage did you wait for biopsy

Hi, I too worry sadly.

My husband had MRI bone scan and biopsy within about four weeks.

It was a bit problematic after all that as our trust seems inundated and communication not the greatest. Diagnosis confirmed at urology appt within 2 months of blood test, saw oncologist a week later, treatment started 6 months after diagnosis. This was 2023.

I'm hoping our trust may do the one stop shop for diagnostics but I guess a month is pretty quick from start to diagnoses . I hope your husband is OK.

My time scales so far (in East Suffolk)

9th May 2025 - referred by GP to urology after DRE

15th May 2025 - MRI scan

19th May 2025 - MRI results (PIRADS 5)

11th June 2025 - Biopsy booked

Good luck! It's the waiting that's awful. Hoping for the best possible results

Hello

I had no symptoms but learned that my father had been diagnosed many years ago so doctor arranged a PSA blood test on 8th April. Results discussed with Dr on 14th April and referred to Urology.

MRI on 18th April. Doctor called on 28th April to arrange biopsy but no scores from the MRI were discussed'

Biopsy arranged for 20th May and currently awaiting results which Dr said would be 3 to 4 weeks, the hospital discharge papers said at least T2/3 in right lobe so expecting further treatment.

I would say this is a pretty good timeframe from first blood test but not sure how it compares to other areas.
