Hi I was diagnosed during March this year

So far I've had all the test and scans just waiting for a bone scan .Just started hormone treatment I am a nine on the Gleason scale I have had a pet scan and they have found out I have one breakout in my sacreum.

I am medically retired as I broke my back in three places had three major ops on my spine . I am in the lucky position that I can still walk but suffer with severe pain while doing it .

So on to the next battle beating this cancer .

Regards Gerry

Hi Gerry.

I'm sorry that you've had to join the PCa Club, but welcome to the forum, mate.

You've certainly been dealt a bad hand, having such a severe back injury, followed by a cancer diagnosis.

You say that your Gleason 9. Is that (4+5) or (5+4). If you don't mind me asking, has your cancer stage been confirmed and what is your PSA?

Very best of luck with it all, Gerry.  When you've had the scans your consultant will be able to list the options available to you.  The good news is, the treatments available today are advanced with better outcomes even compared to five years ago, so there's every reason to be optimistic.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Hi Gerry. Welcome to the club no-one wants to join. It is a lot to get your head around in the early days, but you will find your way through it all and just keep that positive mental attitude as much as you can. Best of luck, David
