Hi. My name is Alex. I'm 53 years old. I just been diagnosed with prostate cancer recently. My gleason score was. 3+4=7. Cpg 4. My last psa score was 28.30. I really don't understand what the scores mean. I have to go for a ct scan. And a whole body bone scan next week. Any advice would be really helpful. Thank you

Hi Alex,

Youre a bit younger than most of us. I'm sorry that you've you've had to join the club, but welcome to the forum, mate. You'll find lots of help and support here.

Your PSA is quite high and you cancer is intermediate grade. Do you know your cancer staging. Is the cancer prostate confined?

Bone scans are often taken as a precaution, I hope your results are good. I suspect with what you've told us that you'll be offered surgery or radiotherapy with hormone treatment.

It's a difficult decision to make and is often discussed on here. Once a treatment plan is put in place, life becomes easier, you can focus on that and making a recovery.

I found this link from another cancer site useful

Please keep us updated and good luck mate.👍

hi mate. nice to meet you. i dont know my staging. or if its confined. i think i will find out more once my scans are done. my psa score has always been over 15. i had a negative biopsy last year. then i had another mri scan. which showed some changes. my second biopsy was then positive. thank you for the link. any information is greatly appreciated at this early stage. then i will have to make a decision on the treatment
