Pads vs Pee Proof Boxers

I have recently started having my social media feeds bombarded by adverts for reusable leak proof boxers [pee-proof boxers].  The hype suggests that they are like normal underwear, only better for drips and dribbles [smaller urine leaks], which I am fortunate to have, and far more comfortable than using pads.  The advertisers are Tena, Orykes, Octipa and Elitevienna, [I am sure that there are more options] and they are all very convincing - well they would be, wouldn't they!

I currently use pads which are a once only use, but have been completely successful since I started using them, but there is a cost.  The leak proof pants are washable and reusable in the same way as normal underwear, but these are a completely new innovation to me and they come with a quite expensive one off cost.

So, all that preamble leads up to questions.  Have any of you chaps had any experience with the pee proof boxers?  Which brand have you used?  Do they work?  Are they worth it?

I much prefer Tena Pads as they are instantly disposable and you can always carry a spafe in your. back pocket and fit it in your pants without too much fuss. I also carry a couple of small disposabe (women's) pads (from Amazon). The reusable knickers can't be changed nearly so easily if you're out in public as it involved taking your shoes and trousers off. If you've filled the pants up with pee you have to walk around for the rest of the day with a nasty soggy lump between your legs.
Pads for me every time.

Thank you for your reply, interesting comment.

BTW, I've still not tried the pads so cannot comment on their effectiveness, and they are really expensive so I'm still using pads as well and am relatively happy with them.
