Hello 👋🏻

My partner has his first Oncology appt at the end of the month and it is with the "oncology combined APC team".....does anyone know who this will be with?🤷🏻‍♀️ I am planning on phoning them to ask the question but wondered if anyone had any knowledge. We really hoped to see a consultant.

I hope you are all doing the best you can be♥️

Polly, looking up APC in England it stands for area prescribing committee, it may be you are meeting with the oncologist and someone like a pharmacist to decide onto the best or available medication in your area.Scotland does prescribe some cancer drugs differently to England.

APC medically in Scotland can also stand for adult protection.

Of course I could be barking up the wrong tree.

Thanks Chris

In this case, I suspect it's Advanced Prostate Cancer, not that I've heard that acronym being used before.

Well i very much hope its not adult protection🤣.....i work in the nhs and I do know that departments can call themselves whatever they like to keep track of patients and appts......someone did mention they thought it stood for advanced prostate cancer and its all been mentioned it could be linked to some genetic testing based on my partners diagnosis.....whatever it is, I am sure it will be helpful!
